There was a time when I used to have so much zeal for everything
I reached for the top and it was right there
I saw and raced. I conquered and celebrated.
That there is the reward for wins.
The more you win, the more you win. Literally.
The moment I took a sleep of rest.
King Solomon’s proverbial words caught up with me.
But in my dreamland, I joked about its reality
I turned on my bed and took a deeper zoom.
And when I awoke? A thief had probably stolen my master keys.
Why does it feel too tedious to win again? Why am I tired even before trying?
Why is the tortoise faster than an hare? Why is the cheetah limping?
It dawned on me then – I had given sleep too much room.
A little sleep, a little slumber, the wise king wrote…
A genuine frown against laziness.
