Even as the novel Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc around the world, movie theatres across the world remain are closed. Streaming services are now the best way to go, to cope with the massive effect of the virus on the film industry.
In the last few weeks, everything from sports, convections and festivals have been shut down to slow the spread of the virus.
For the first time in history, movie distributors throughout the world have closed their doors leading to zero revenue in the industry. Several studios have stopped production until further notice. This has left the entertainment industry wondering what’s next.
Although the release dates of several movies have been pushed forward, most movies have moved to stream services as their saving grace. With everyone at home the best place to get movie entertainment is on various streaming platforms. Netflix leads the way in the streaming world with other streaming sites like Hulu, HBOGo.
Some big-name movies which release dates have been postponed include:
- Mulan: It was initially slated to be released on March, 12th. However, it has been moved to July, 24th.
- Black Widow: Moved to November, 6th.
- No Time to Die: Moved to November 2020.
- A Quiet Place Part II: Moved to September 4th, 2020.
- Fast and Furious 9: Moved to April 2021.
