Meet Ekundayo Akinola, a Burgeoning Luminary and a Mentor Extraordinaire

MEDIVOICE: Meet the game changer of the week,Akinola! Every publication week,we shine the spotlight on someone who’s making waves and defying norms. This week, get to know Ekundayo Akinola, a noble luminary of the Tenacious class in IFUMSA. Hello, Can we meet you?

POTW: I am Ekundayo Akinola, a 400 level Medic. 

MEDIVOICE:It’s great meeting you😊. So Akinola, moving further, how do you feel about IFUMSA?

POTW: Hmm, I feel IFUMSA is a well organised association.

MEDIVOICE: I absolutely agree with you. Additionally, do you have any leadership roles within or outside IFUMSA?

POTW: No.

MEDIVOICE: Alright! As a matter of fact, why are you studying medicine?

POTW: 😅😅😅Honestly, I don’t think I have the passion to save or treat people. I just came to do medicine because I felt brilliant minds should study medicine and here I am, surviving and enjoying what I am learning.Also, I chose Medicine because of job security, long term relevance and of course, cash💸😅.

MEDIVOICE: That’s one very upfront response, and it’s nice to know😅. Moreover, do you have a favourite course at the moment?

POTW: Yes, Physiology.

MEDIVOICE: Great! Aside from medicine, what else are you involved in?

POTW: Hmm, nothing much, but if watching series counts for something then yeah, watching series😵.

MEDIVOICE: That’s outright cool. To continue, which do you prefer – a book, a movie or a theatre play?

POTW: I love movies series, but it is difficult to decide if I love it more than my books.

MEDIVOICE: Must be a tough one lol. Who is your role model/ personal hero?

POTW: Nil.

MEDIVOICE: Moving on, what is your favourite book or author and why?

POTW: Apart from academic books, I’m not much of a reader but I do read people’s write-ups on Medium, people like Akinbo, and so far, he is my favourite writer.🤗

MEDIVOICE: That’s nice! (writer Akinbo,take your credits, smiles..) Also, do you have a senior or junior colleague you admire?

POTW: To start with, I admire a lot of people both senior and junior colleagues but distinguished amongst them are Dapo and Azeez, my junior colleagues, and Dipo and WOF, my senior colleagues.

MEDIVOICE: Amazing! Moving to the ‘love’ talk😉, Are you in a romantic relationship?

POTW: No.

MEDIVOICE: Readers, he is not taken! What to do with that information is left to you😅.Next, would you consider yourself an introvert, extrovert or an ambivert?

POTW: Ambivert.

MEDIVOICE: Okay! Besides, do you enjoy group study or do you prefer to study on your own?

POTW: I prefer to study on my own, but when things get difficult, I would happily join others to learn.

MEDIVOICE: That’s dynamic and interesting! Furthermore, our noble personality,  what are you most proud of?

POTW: Hmm😅I’m proud of who I’m gradually becoming and I’m proud of myself for mentorship.

MEDIVOICE: That’s amazing, we are proud of you too🤗. Next, what’s your dream country for vacation?

POTW: USA.

MEDIVOICE: Fab! Now, tell us a fun fact about you.

POTW: I crack funny jokes once in a while and I can be really sarcastic 😅.

MEDIVOICE: Would love to hear one of your jokes someday😁. In addition, what question do you always want people to ask you about yourself?

POTW: Tough one but skip😅.

MEDIVOICE: Okay!  Moving further, what is the one thing you would like to change about yourself?

POTW: I would love to be less shy, learn to be comfortable in the midst of many people and to be more social physically than online.

MEDIVOICE: You are a step closer to the change you seek🤗.Rounding up, do you have any words of advice for your junior or senior colleagues?

POTW: For my junior colleagues, please that part you said won’t come out in Incourse or MB, please go and read it, na trap😅. Also,solve any past questions you come in contact with.
