Omo mi . . .

Omo mi,

There will come a time,

When the darkness that has

been behind you for so long

will overtake you and engulf you.

Like a blanket on a hot day.

You will want to dissapear,

Melt into the darkness,

You will wish to remember

What it was like to not exist

Omo mi,

When that darkness comes,

Do not close your eyes to the darkness.

Stare it down, bold and true

Because a star might come to behold your beauty

while you hide behind eyelids.

And when that star comes, omo mi,

Reach out, stand high, jump.

Grab on to it tighter than you would,

hold a chicken trying to run.

And let it take you into the light.
