Meet Dunmomi of the Unicus Class – An awe-inspiring medipreneur.

Medivoice: Medivoice lovers, after a very strenuous week, what’s better than lazing around and reading fun content like Medivoice short interviews and seeing some movies to rejuvenate oneself? Anyway, for our awesome readers, we are here again with our personality of the week episode with a distinguished damsel that’s a member of the Unicus medicos class. I’ll like to leave the introduction to her. Can we meet you, Miss Dunmomi?

POTW: Hiiiii!! My name is Dunmomi Durojaye, I’m a third-year medical student at Obafemi Awolowo University. I’m also the Founder and Creative Director at The Elior Brand, a Christocentric Merch Store, that helps people to shine their light to the world. I also own a YouTube Channel and I host an audio show – The Light Podcast.

Medivoice: Spectacular! I have always known medical students to be dynamic but you still managed to leave me in awe.

Currently, do you have any leadership roles within or outside IFUMSA?

POTW: I do not hold any roles at the moment, although I have held quite a number of roles in the past.

Medivoice: Nice to hear that. So, how would you describe yourself?

POTW: I would describe myself as someone who is very easygoing and enjoys her peace and space more than any other thing in the world. I am also quite adventurous and always willing to try out new things, even though I am not too bold.

Another part of me is the part that always wants to see people become better and live their best lives.

Medivoice: This is inspiring, and it depicts a high level of self-awareness to describe oneself very nicely. I’ll like to know, who is your role model/personal hero?

POTW: My dad, first of all. Then a couple of senior colleagues, especially Dr. Adeoluwa Olowookere.

Medivoice: Nice! In addition, what specialty are you looking at?

POTW: To be very honest, I don’t have any idea yet.

Medivoice: Ooh, you still have quite some time to decide that. Furthermore, asides from medicine, what else are you involved in?

POTW: Business!!! 😂😂

I’m a budding entrepreneur and I’m excited for what the future holds in that space.

I’m also involved in Social Media Management, Project Management and I’m looking forward to travelling the world!

Medivoice: I love it. Upcoming medipreneurs, a role model yeah? (yay!! lol). Now, it’s time to make a choice. What do you prefer, a book or a movie?

POTW: I would choose a book one million times! I am usually sad that we have too many books yet too little time to read them all.

Medivoice: As a reader myself, I can totally relate to having very little time to spend with our babies😔(books) but it doesn’t make our love for them any less. In continuation, do you have a favorite book or author and why?

POTW: I am not one to have favorite things, but I have loved Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel since the time I read the first chapter.

I love it because it is the most practical and insightful book on financial literacy I have read so far.

Medivoice: Amazing👏! Now, onto the ‘crush’ sessions (the most anticipated part for most readers😏), Do you have a celebrity crush?

POTW: No.

Medivoice: Okay, how about a college crush?

POTW: Nil

Medivoice: Lol, Alright. But, do you have a senior colleague you admire?

POTW: Yes, Mr. President, the 44th himself!

Medivoice: A man of admiration he truly is.

Miss Dunmomi, Are you in a romantic relationship?

POTW: Nope

Medivoice: A news that gladdens the heart or a bad one? I will leave the question to the ‘crushers’ of our beautiful interviewee to answer, lol😅.

Back to serious business, I will like to know, would you consider yourself an introvert, extrovert, or ambivert?

POTW: An ambivert.

Medivoice: Okay. Do you prefer group study or do you prefer to study on your own?

POTW: I prefer to study on my own, but I know that the place of group study in med school cannot be denied. So I do group study sometimes.

Medivoice: That’s true anyway. The importance of group study in medical school can’t be overemphasised. Next, what are you most proud of?

POTW: I’m proud of myself! Not giving up on me and my dreams despite the tough things I have had to go through. Building up my self-esteem to a level nobody can play with.

I’m proud of what God is helping me do with my business, The Elior Brand too. We have come so far in record time and it is just a testimony to the hard work I put into the brand behind the scenes.

Medivoice: Awe-inspiring! I don’t mind exhausting my adjectives on people that burst my brain😅. In continuation, What is one thing you would like to change about yourself?

POTW: I would love to learn how to say no and look away. I say yes to things easily and it is usually very distracting. So yes, I want to say more ‘Nos’.

Medivoice:  A wise man once said: “A problem identified is a problem half-solved”, and now that you have realised this, it becomes very easy to make changes.Good luck with saying more “Nos” to things that do not serve your highest good🌟. Also, Can you give us a fun fact about you?

POTW: I can write upside down very easily. I am also quite lazy, contrary to popular opinions.

Medivoice: Interesting! How about a dream country for vacation?

POTW: Might be weird, but I want to go to Greece. In short, I want to travel the world.

Medivoice: That’s cool😎. In addition, It would be interesting to know your perception of life. Will you like to tell us?

POTW: My perception about life; In life, your goal should be how to make the world better a place for the person next to you. This would guide your actions and inactions. If you see the world this way, you would be genuinely kind.

Medivoice: A sweet perception you have there. In conclusion, what question do you always want people to ask you about yourself?

POTW: Hmnnnnn. This question is quite tough 😂😂 .

The first thing that came to mind was ‘What do you want to eat?’ but to be serious, that question would be “Why do you do all that you do”?

This question would help me remember my why and see reasons why I can’t stop pursuing goals.

Medivoice: A nice self-reflecting question it is. Well-done ma’am.

Dear readers, here comes the end of this interesting episode. Look forward to another enthralling episode of Personality of the Week. Till then, stay cool and safe🤩!
