French Toast

Hello guys. It’s nice to have you back here. Hope you have been staying safe?

To say that everyone loves bread is an understatement. It is one of the oldest man-made foods, plays an essential role in some religious rituals and secular culture. It also happens to be one Of the most staple foods available, can be made in different ways, shapes and sizes and eaten with different spreads and beverages.

In the next few weeks,we would be learning how to make bread even more delicious with ingredients readily available starting with French toast.

French toast is a dish made of sliced bread soaked in eggs and typically milk, then fried.

Ingredients
1. Bread slices

Tip: the drier you bread is, the better it would soak up the egg and milk without disintegrating. A day-old loaf should do the trick. Also it’s best not to use bread slices that are too thin or light. You can slice your bread yourself making sure each slice is at least 1/2 inch thick.

2. Eggs

3. Milk

4. Butter or vegetable oil.

Procedures

  1. Break the Eggs into a bowl,
  2. Add Sugar, a pinch of salt, milk ,A, a drop of Vanilla extract(optional), and pepper (Optional)
  3. Whisk together
  4. Put some butter in a pan
  5. Heat and melt the butter
  6. Dip your bread slice into the egg mixture, make sure you coat both sides evenly with the mixture
  7. Smear some butter in a pan. (You can also use vegetable oil but ensure its just enough to keep the pan oiled.)
  8. Then place the bread in the hot melted butter , fry and flip both sides until it is golden brown
  9. Remove from the pan

Your French toast is ready

Drizzle honey , maple syrup or fruit toppings and serve with a cup of hot beverage. Enjoy!
