I know, I know very well what you might be facing now: from the long hours classes, unending postings, late-night reading then to the junk, the 7 minutes naps, the long queue for the bus or even the water queue at Halls of Residence.
I know how it feels to stay off campus, queue for 10 minutes at the bus stop, and hurry like never before to get to that class, only for the said class to get cancelled.
Yes, I know. I know what it feels like to study all day, flip through the pages and nothing seems to come up. Then you put on a phone call just to cry your eyes out and scream out of frustration but you proceed to read as if your life depends on it. What about when you get bitten by mosquitoes as though your blood is the sweetest to their buds? All these, I know.
I also know what it feels like to sleep for eight hours out of ten, and nap for the remaining 2. I know what it feels like to watch movies for 9 hours straight while munching on some candies and forgetting what real food tastes like.
This isn’t just for me to know; this is me going in-depth about what it means to be you, while still excelling.
In college, we are more than a family; we are a small world full of people from different parts. The “This” and the “That”.
This is college, where some read for 4 hours and some for 24. Where some stay all day in the library, and some do the needful, just in the comfort of their rooms. This is college, where results aren’t just about how much you know, but by how smart you can be.
By the way, I won’t ask if you’re done reading because here, that isn’t even possible. I will rather ask if you are ready to pick True or false.
I will ask if you are ready to pick the right answer even when you’re clueless.
A few weeks ago, we celebrated the renovation of the college library. This is a great milestone. The interior of the library is enough to boast about, and so are the electronic facilities that have been provided for easy accessibility to fast education amongst college students.
Fantastic, right?
Again, this week, we celebrate OAU stars from college. These are the unbeaten minds in each class. Beating all courses as though they had a personal fight with them in their past lives. They are not just another college student; they are exceptional ones setting goals and breaking records.
