On today’s episode of Medivoice personality of the week, we have the exquisite lady holding the position of class representative of the Tenacious class.
Medivoice: Can we meet you?
POTW: My name is Iyinoluwa Adeoye. I’m a member of the part three class of this association.
Medivoice: How has Medical school been?
POTW: Can it really be described with letters? Honestly, I don’t have the words.
Medivoice: You are not alone🤗. Why did you decide to study medicine?
POTW: I’ve told many people it’s because I would like to cut a person open without going to jail😹. Truth is I didn’t like how helpless I was when my sister was near death.
Medivoice: Interesting! If not medicine, what else?
POTW: African literature or a finance-related course.
Medivoice: What has been your best and worst course so far?
POTW: My best course – It’s a tie between biochemistry and physiology. My worst course – Bleh! Anatomy!
Medivoice: I can relate to the anatomy part😂. Apart from tending to the affairs of your people as a class Rep, what other positions do you hold in IFUMSA?
POTW: I’m a member of IFEMED JC.
Medivoice: As regards tending to yourself and seeing to the affairs of your classmates, how have you been able to balance both?
POTW: 😹😹bruh! You should see me dumping everything at the feet of Jesus. That’s the only way I know how to keep balance.
Medivoice: Are there any mistakes or lessons learned even while at that?
POTW: Yeah, I’ve learned a couple lessons. One of the earliest I learned was to never sacrifice/compromise my values in my service. It never ends well.
Medivoice: To the positive side, are there any positive impacts it has made on you?
POTW: Yes, indeed! One major positive impact is I’ve learned how to build relationships.
Medivoice: I am sure you and your classmates can’t wait to be done with this preclinical phase and get on with clinicals. Any expectations for the clinicals?
POTW: See ehn. Can’t wait to throw the pre in front of clinical out the window!😩 😹😹 expectations? Can we skip to the induction part please?😹
Medivoice: 😂😂. Fun fact about you?
POTW: I really love the smell of fresh grass and rain.
Medivoice: Perception of life that has helped you this far?
POTW: Since you’re interviewing me as a class rep, here’s one of my favourite leadership quotes.
“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets as Michelangelo painted or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”
Dr Martin Luther King Jr.
Medivoice: Final words for Medivoice.
POTW: Uhm… thanks? Yeah thanks 😹😹 I don’t know what to say as parting words o Moyin.
