  • Most Memorable moment in medical school: Our first pediatric class with Professor Olowu, the silence that pervaded that class was awesome, the sound of his shoes as he paced to and fro the class was something else. I had many memorable moments, especially during calls in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as paediatrics. It was real work.

Joshua Oluwatosin OLAMIJU

Name: Joshua Oluwatosin OLAMIJU
Describe your medical School Journey with a song: Finger of God- Dunsin Oyekan
Most Memorable moment in medical school: Difficult choice, but I’ll pick Part 6 when we escaped ward round to hunt induction packages 😅. There were about eight students in that round. It was induction day, and we had expected some indulgence. We got quite peeved that we were not released early. It was like the round lost its stop codon that day. We colluded, and at the purest window, four of us made a break for it. The remaining four dawdled and waited for us to return before rejoining the round. The cooperation and understanding were emergent, thanks to the shared displeasure. And boy, did we get food and jotters! It was the most productive hunt I ever did in med school. We got bales of food, ate to fill and returned to the round with clean lips. No non-student smelled anything. Being naughty never felt better🤣😂. We were later released to go for the induction, but that was already late in the evening. The coup felt even much better then.
Parting words: It’s a fragile world, so live, love and laugh. Be kind and at peace – you always have those options. And like Viktor Frankl said, you are at liberty to choose your attitude and response in any circumstance.
