The D-day is finally here, the day that decides the next IFUMSA administration. This year’s election will take place online, marking the first association-wide online voting for an IFUMSA election.
That said, online voting is not something the whole association uses when it comes to IFUMSA elections. To help you vote the right way and to ensure that your votes count, MediVoice has compiled everything that you need to know.
Before mentioning the rules of voting, below is a list of the candidates and the positions they are running for:

The IFUMSA Electoral Committee released the guidelines for online voting in today’s election, and they include the following:
- Voting codes will be sent, along with matric numbers, to every member of every class in IFUMSA. Electoral representatives from each class have already worked on collating these numbers.
- People who do not receive any code to their active numbers should send their complaints to their class’s electoral representatives, who will ensure everyone gets a code before voting starts.
- Every IFUMSAite that is eligible to vote is assigned one code. It’s not possible for one matric number to be assigned multiple codes or to vote multiple times.
For example, if an IFUMSAite with matric number CLI/2011/289 gets a code of 736AH5, it stays unique. If they complain that they have not received the code in their active phone number, the same code, 736AH5, will be sent to their “new active phone number.”
During the voting tomorrow, once the matric number CLI/2011/289 with code 736AH5 completes their vote, THEY CANNOT VOTE AGAIN.
This year’s election has come with the biggest drama the association has ever seen, and it all comes down to today. MediVoice advises that everyone respects the rules and regulations of voting for a successful election. Best of luck to all candidates!
