AMVCA: The Stunning!

Hello readers, I take it we are enjoying this break imposed on us by the current and ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Well, welcome to the fashion column where we’re going on a flashback to this year’s Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) which held on the 14th of March at the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island and many of our favourites in the African entertainment industry came looking superb!
A lot of the ladies wore dresses with thigh-high slits, almost makes me wonder if the theme was “pepper dem legs” (I’m not a fan), so today we’ll be reminiscing on a few of the decent and stunning looks with a lot of concentration on the hot men( wink wink). Let’s get started, shall we?

Mike Edwards: Mike Edwards served us hot with Shakespearean swagger, looking like a perfect gentleman and a prince charming in his ruffled sleeved shirt and velvet tuxedo. His best-dressed male award is well deserved if you ask me.

Seyi Awolowo: It’s no surprise that he was one of the top 3 nominees for the best-dressed male. I mean the material, the colour, the style, the whole ensemble was just everything! He really “peppered” us looking like a more stylish Eddie Murphy in Coming to America.

Ebuka Obi Uchendu: Ebuka always looks stunning at events, (you remember his show-stealing agbada at Adesua and Banky W’s wedding )and the AMVCA was not an exception. He looked super handsome in his white tuxedo and bowtie. It was regular, elegant and hot at the same time!

Timini Egbuson: This handsome man whom quite a lot of ladies are crushing on (you know yourselves) won his first-ever AMVCA award for Best Actor in a Drama, movie or TV series looking dapper in an exquisitely designed suit.

Now, I know I said I was focusing on guys but this article would not be complete if I do not mention Nana Akua Addo. She proved fashion is indeed an art in a dramatic blush which accentuated her figure and made her look elegant, designed by an Indian fashion designer, Guara Gupta. Who can blame the ladies showing this amazing style to their tailors and asking if it can be replicated?

Finally, I must not leave out the incredibly talented actress Sola Sobowale who proved she is truly “oba” in her gorgeous gown of royal colours.
There were so much amazing and descent looks this year at the AMVCA. You could, of course, use any of the above as style inspiration for a glamorous event you would be attending. That’s it for today on this side, Till next time then remember to wash your hands very frequently, use sanitizers, avoid crowded places, stay at home, eat lots of fruits and vegetables and most importantly pray and stay safe.
Lots of love,

  • Amara
